Alana Mari
A second generation Witch, raised in the thriving Midwest Pagan community, belly dance was always around her- it was what many of the the women did, so as a young teen Alana learned by watching and listening.
She has studied Middle Eastern dance locally at the Cassandra School for almost seven years and in 2013, traveled to San Francisco for immersive study with master teachers and originators of American Tribal Style®.
Her specialties are American Tribal Style®, Egyptian Raqs Sharqi, and American Cabaret style. Alana works using the principle of “organic fusion”: the deep study of multiple dance disciplines, leading to a cohesive and unique personal style.
Alana is a temple dancer, making her offerings of beauty and embodied prayer throughout the Midwest. She teaches class at a Minneapolis underground arts and music space and performs professionally at events, parties, and festivals. Follow Alana Mari at alanamari.weebly.com and on Facebook.
